Justin Bieber Got Boyz II Men's Advice During Mistletoe

Under the Mistletoe collaborators tell teen singer, 'You've got to have your wits about you,' during 'Fa La La' recording session.

Justin Bieber and Boyz II Men are singing "Fa La La" on the young singer's new Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, released Tuesday (November 1). When the group hit the studio with Bieber in September, the recording session made headlines, and the moment marked a triumph for the teen star. The Boyz have been heroes for the singer since he was just a kid growing up in Canada.

So, when they all went in to work on the track, Shawn Stockman and the guys had some advice for the 17-year-old as he continues on his path of pop superstardom. "He's a fan of our music," Stockman told MTV News. "So him being in the studio and everything, when we were singing the parts, and he's bugging out, and we got a chance to talk to him and give him some brotherly type advice."

What advice did the veteran group — celebrating its anniversary this month with the album Twenty — share with the teen? "[We] just gave him some wisdom to know how to keep things going from a mental level [and] not just doing this [to do this] because people can get caught up in the success and all the hype and the girls screaming and the money and all the other good stuff, and you've got to have your wits about you," Stockman said. "And make sure that you don't want to have this legacy of being this brat ... you don't want that. You want longevity, not only in this business, but life as well."

Stockman said Bieber can expect many highs, but there will also be lows, and he wants to make sure the young star can weather all of those moments. "There's going to be ups, and there's going to be downs ... you're not always going to be on top, so you have to build certain things to cushion the fall a little when it does happen," he said. "Because it will happen. It happens to everyone; no one's exempt."

Under the Mistletoe features original holiday tunes by Bieber, as well as reimaginings of classic tunes, like Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas." Bieber is joined by Carey as well as Boyz II Men, Usher, Busta Rhymes and the Band Perry on the album.

Justin Bieber Gets Charitable in Sin City

He?s experienced overwhelming success thanks to his loyal fans, and Justin Bieber loves to give back whenever he can.

The ?Baby? singer surprised students at Las Vegas? Whitney Elementary when he announced he?d be donating $100,000 to the impoverished school and giving a concert this holiday season.

Bieber paid a visit to ?The Ellen DeGeneres Show? to make the announcement. Ellen had also arranged a video feed from the school, where many of the students are homeless.

Additionally, Justin has decided to donate a portion of his sales from his Christmas album Under the Mistletoe to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Pencils of Promise.

Khloe and Kourtney Komment on Kim Kardashian Split, Kall Out Haters

Hey, did you hear? Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce from Kris Humphries.

Following this truly unexpected turn of events, many involved parties have spoken out. Kim says the decision was difficult. Kris says he doesn't want to accept it. What about sisters Khloe and Kourtney?

Via her official blog, an assistant for Kourtney simply writes: “Our sister is going through a difficult time but we’re a close family and are sticking together like always. Kim, we love you. We appreciate everyone’s kindness and support.”

We're not even gonna go there, Khloe, except to say: if you wish to remain apart from public discourse, stop placing yourself squarely in the public eye at every single opportunity.
