If only the Germans had a say in what happens on "Dancing With the Stars." They might have been able to save the Hoff. The first casualty from season 11 of the popular dance competition, David Hasselhoff — he's really big in Germany — was eliminated on Tuesday night's results show.
"Hey, we tried," Hasselhoff said when his name was called. "It's been a great ride," the 58-year-old added before he and partner Kym Johnson performed their cha-cha again.
"I feel bad for Kym, because she worked so hard to try and get me where I was going," he continued. "I'm just so proud that my daughters are here and got to see me go this far. So it's great."
Hasselhoff landed in the bottom two, alongside Disney kid Kyle Massey and his partner, Lacey Schwimmer. And the men took the rest of the lowest spots, as Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Kurt Warner also seemed like they might be threatened with elimination at one point. (Both were saved by higher combined scores.)
There was plenty of live music on Tuesday night, too, leading up to the announcement of who would be sent home. Santana performed "Oye Como Va" and Daughtry performed their single, "September," from their Leave This Town album, while the "DWTS" pros danced. Santana also performed "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with India.Arie.
Next week, the celebrities hit the dance floor again. Left to compete are Brandy, top-scorer Jennifer Grey, Florence Henderson, former L.A. Laker Rick Fox, football legend Warner, Massey, "The Hills" alum Audrina Patridge, "Jersey Shore" star the Situation, singer Michael Bolton, comedian Margaret Cho and Bristol Palin.
Do you think the Hoff should have been eliminated from "DWTS"? Tell us in the comments!
