Keeping Up with the Kardashians: Renewed for THREE More Seasons!

Prepare to watch Kim Kardashian cry fake tears over at least a half dozen more divorces, E! viewers, as the network announced today that it has renewed Keeping Up with the Kardashians for three more seasons.

The new deal is worth $40 million for the family, and that figure does NOT include all the revenue Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and kompany will earn by simply Tweeting and pretending to be your pal on Facebook.

The contract also does NOT cover additional seasons of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York or Khloé & Lamar, along with any future spin-offs producers can conjure up (Kris Does Menopause? Kendall Studies For Her Learner's Permit?).

Keeping Up with the Kardashians premieres its next season on May 20, with the only real question remaining:

How much air time will be dedicated to Kim and Kanye West?

'Glee' Star Chris Colfer Reveals 'Message' Behind 'Struck By Lightning'

Film 'started [as] a way for me to vent out my high school annoyances,' actor tells MTV News about movie he wrote and stars in.
By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Move over Lea Michele: It looks like Chris Colfer is the new "Glee" star to watch. When he won a Golden Globe in 2011 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, entertainment gurus started paying attention to the guy who plays Kurt Hummel.

Colfer originally auditioned for "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy in the hopes of landing the role of Artie, a paraplegic nerd with insane rapping skills. The part went to Kevin McHale, but Murphy liked Colfer so much that he created the role of Kurt specifically for him. The charisma that won Murphy over has since stolen the hearts of audiences, and the actor has used his fame to launch his own side projects — including "Struck by Lightning," a feature premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

Colfer wrote the screenplay and stars in the film as Carson Phillips, a driven high school senior and promising journalist focused on making it in New York. His plan is to attend his dream college and become editor of The New Yorker, but things change abruptly when he is — you guessed it — struck by lightning.

"The project kind of started [as] a way for me to vent out my high school annoyances with my classmates and my teachers and the town that I lived in," Colfer told MTV News. "It just kept evolving, evolving ... [until] I just kind of said to myself, 'I really need to make this into a movie someday.' "

Even though the story is loosely based on Colfer's high school experience, he tells us that it is not autobiographical. "Carson is a very, very driven kid who really just wants to get out of his town and is waiting for his life to begin in New York City," he said. "That's his goal. Meanwhile, he's stuck in this really small town with these people whose aspirations are becoming a fireman, becoming a nurse, becoming principal of the school, and he has a hard time with it. And I think he has a really important message for kids to hear these days."

It's a message that can now be heard thanks to the phenomenon of the Fox musical series. "['Glee'] kind of created a possibility for me to do this," the actor revealed. "Making movies, writing stuff, has always been my plan. Always, always, always. And sometimes I laugh when people are surprised that I do that because it's always been so much a passion for me to get into someday.

"I feel like every actor has a shelf life, and luckily I'm relevant now because I'm on 'Glee' and there [are] just a lot of things I want to get done before my shelf life is over," he added, laughing. "So I'm just trying to get everything on my bucket list off while I can."

We'd say he's off to a good start. "Struck by Lightning" will continue playing at the Tribeca Film Festival on Friday, April 27, and Sunday, April 29. Rush tickets will be available. The movie is set to hit theaters later this year.

'Bridget Jones 3' Script In The Works, Hugh Grant Confirms

Leading man tells MTV News he expects 'more fisticuffs' with Colin Firth.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Hugh Grant

The last time anyone heard about the third film in the "Bridget Jones" franchise, the script was still being reworked to suit lead actors Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. But fans have been getting antsy about the long-rumored sequel, with some wondering if the next chapter in bumbling Bridget's story will ever be told.

When MTV News caught up with Grant in New York City on Friday (April 20), he explained that the British love triangle will return to the big screen ... eventually. However, script problems continue to delay production.

"I've seen some scripts," Grant said. "They haven't quite hit the nail yet, but they will. They're working on it."

Since the script is still in the writing stages, now might be the time to request that Bridget's two leading men, Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy, get into one of their infamous brawls, battling it out for Bridget's heart.

"Yes, our public demands some more fisticuffs!" Grant exclaimed.

"Bridget Jones 3" was first announced in August 2011. At one point, "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig was attached to direct the film, but he exited last October. In November, Firth explained that "Full Monty" director Peter Cattaneo was in talks to take the helm.

In 2001, "Bridget Jones's Diary" became an international smash, making a whopping $282 million at the box office. Three years later, the 2004 sequel "Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason" saw slightly less success Stateside but raked in a whopping $262 million. Now, eight years after the last flick, the third film would potentially follow Bridget as she attempts to tackle motherhood in her 40s. Fans should probably expect lots of trademark Bridget Jones antics to ensue.

Alicia Douvall: I Did Simon Cowell 11 Times in One Night!

Simon Cowell is a busy man. On television, where he produces America's Got Talent, as well as two versions of The X Factor? Sure, we guess.

But in the bedroom is where British model Alicia Douvall is focusing in a new interview, telling Great Britain's The Sun that she once got it on with the reality show star 11 times... in one night!

Alicia Douvall PictureCowell, Simon

"We started having sex and went on through the night," Douvall said of a an evening not longer after she met Simon in 2001 at a bar. "We slept a little bit in between but only for a few minutes."

And how as Cowell? Critical, Douvall claims.

"Every time we had sex he would analyze my performance just like a judge on the TV and say how there could be an improvement next time."

The model says she's speaking out now because she's NOT included in "Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell," a biography about the judge penned by Tim Bower.

As someone with first hand knowledge, purportedly, Douvall does not back up Sharon Osbourne's assertions regarding Cowell's manhood.

Mac is back, so you can expect a Most Dope "RapFix Live" when Mac Miller returns to the red couch on Wednesday.

It's been a hell of a ride for the 20-year-old spitter, and he doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon. After landing the #1 album in the country last November with his debut LP Blue Slide Park, Mac has been moving at an accelerated pace. He concluded his 80-date, sold-out BSP tour in December and immediately hit the lab to cook up his Macadelic mixtape, which he dropped as a free Internet download in March.

"It's like the story of someone who is growing up, trying to figure out who he is and trying to figure out what he's supposed to do in the world and how he's gonna change it," Mac told Mixtape Daily of Macadelic. "I think it's a great piece because it's a great part of my career, it's a great time right now and I feel like I been making mixtapes for five years, so this one is very special to me."

The tape features contributions from Cam'ron, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Wayne on the soul-bearing "The Question." "This song is a real meaningful song to me, man, and I wanted to make sure I got Wayne on something that was heartfelt," he said of "The Question." "I got him on a record that I was saying something and not just talkin' sh--, so this record right here really kinda deals with a question that I've been goin' through in my own head."

Mac is currently out on tour in support of Macadelic, but that didn't stop him from announcing his next run: the with Wiz Khalifa, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q and Chevy Woods. "It means everything, Mac's my little homey. It's good for his fans; it's good for everybody who've been wanting to see us do what we do together," Wiz told MTV News of the joint summer tour last week while on the set for Maroon 5's "Payphones" video in L.A.

Catch Mac Miller on "RapFix Live" Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com, and be sure to join the Twitter conversation using the hashtag #RapFixLive. Send your questions for the artists @MTVRapFix!

Megan Fox Is Pregnant

Although the tabloid media has been obsessing over Megan Fox for years — ever since she made her blockbuster debut in the 2007 moneymaker "Transformers" — they'll have a whole new reason to pay close attention to the star for the next few months: The 25-year-old is reportedly pregnant with her first child.

According to E! Online, Fox is expecting a bundle of joy with husband Brian Austin Green. The new addition to their family will be the second child for Green, who also has a 10-year-old son, Kassius, with ex Vanessa Marcil.

MTV News reached out to Fox's reps for comment but have yet to receive confirmation.

The news might not come as a surprise to the folks over at Star magazine, who initially broke the story about Fox's pregnancy in late March via a source close to the couple. "They just found out and are incredibly excited," a source told Star at the time. "Megan has become a great stepmom, and Brian knows she'll be wonderful with the baby."

The "Friends With Kids" star has also stated publicly that she is eager to become a mother. "I want at least two, probably three kids," the actress said in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan magazine. "I've always been maternal."

Fox and Green met while filming the sitcom "Hope and Faith" back in 2004 and the pair were married in Hawaii in June 2010. The actress has said their relationship works because they are best friends. "I feel like I'm with my best friend," she told MTV News about Green. "I've been with him for so long, so it feels natural and comfortable."

Share your well-wishes for the couple in the comments!

Jennifer Lawrence In Talks For 'Glass Castle' Movie

'Hunger Games' star may land a lead role in the film adaptation of Jeannette Walls' best-selling memoir.
By Fallon Prinzivalli

Jennifer Lawrence

With the success of "The Hunger Games," it's no surprise Jennifer Lawrence is a sought-after leading lady. With three films hitting theaters this fall — including "House at the End of the Street" and "The Silver Linings Playbook" — she has a busy schedule, but it looks like Lawrence might add another project to her repertoire.

Deadline Hollywood reports that Lionsgate's production president, Erik Feig, has acquired the rights to gossip columnist Jeanette Walls' best-seller "The Glass Castle: A Memoir." Gil Netter ("The Blind Side") is set to produce and Marti Noxon ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "I Am Number Four") is attached to pen the script.

Walls' book follows her nomadic childhood as she grew up moving around the Southwest desert with her parents and three siblings. When he was sober, her father Rex nurtured his children's imagination and taught them to embrace life. Her mother Rose Mary was an artist who would rather paint and write than be responsible for her family. When their money was finally gone, they returned to West Virginia where her father drank and stole and Walls and her siblings were forced to support each other. While her tale seems grim, she paints her parents in a loving light because, despite her family's flaws, they played a huge role in her success. Upon its release in 2005, the book spent more than 250 weeks on the New York Times Best Sellers list, which was a first for any memoir.

The story is a departure from the male-centered movies Lionsgate usually releases. They're known for films such as "Warrior," "The Lincoln Lawyer," "Abduction" and "Conan the Barbarian." But perhaps with the overwhelming success of "Hunger Games" and its strong heroine, the company will focus on more female-lead narratives.

Check out everything we've got on "The Hunger Games."

Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows': Just How Dark Is It?

Early chatter indicates a film in the vein of 'Sleepy Hollow' with both farcical and 'full-bodied horror' elements.
By John Mitchell

Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer in "Dark Shadows"
Photo: Warner Bros.

The death of actor Jonathan Frid, the original Barnabas Collins, makes this a sad week in the "Dark Shadows"-verse. The 87-year-old, classically trained actor passed away at a hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, on April 13 after a fall at his home. Frid cameos in Tim Burton's big-screen adaptation of the '60s soap opera, which hits theaters on May 11. It will be his final screen appearance.

"Jonathan Frid was the reason I used to run home from school to watch 'Dark Shadows,' " the film's star, Johnny Depp, told the LA Times in an e-mail from the Arizona set of "The Lone Ranger." "His elegance and grace was an inspiration then and will continue to remain one forever more. When I had the honor to finally meet him ... [he] generously passed the torch of Barnabas."

We hope Frid, who maintained a long, loving and appreciative relationship with "Shadows" fans, had a chance to see at least a rough cut of the anticipated flick. Some early reviews trickling out indicate it is quite different from what the trailers, TV commercials and print advertisements would have us think.

Two weeks back, after hearing Burton regular Danny Elfman's menacing score and noting that it in no way lined up with the gonzo comedy the trailer seemed to be selling, we wondered if maybe the clip was cut to appeal to the broadest possible audience without much regard for the tone of the film itself. After all, a Gothic horror-comedy with a deep and dramatic back story is a much harder sell than a broad and cartoonish farce about an 18th Century vamp trying to get used to the electronic contraptions, female doctors and cars of the 1970s.

If the early buzz is any indication, we were right.

In a series of tweets (which have since been pulled down; lucky for us others cleverly snapped them up), Entertainment Weekly senior writer Anthony Breznican, who has seen the movie, shared his thoughts and they reveal a more complex and ambitious film that is alternately dark and absurd (in what sounds like a great way).

"I've seen final cut of 'Dark Shadows.' Tone similar to Burton and Depp's 'Sleepy Hollow' — lots of humor, but with menacing, atmospheric edge," Breznican wrote. "In 'Dark Shadows,' there's an absurdist bent to the monster element. The creatures of the night are adrift in the self-obsessed world of 1970s ... In typical Burton fashion, humans are scarier than the fiends. If u want 'Interview w the Vampire,' that movie exists. This is a more wry take."

Most telling though, Breznican wrote, "If you dig screenwriter [Seth Grahame-Smith's] style w Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter then 'Dark Shadows' will be to your liking, too."

Grahame-Smith is a master of mixing comedy and drama with thrills and chills, as his books "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" and "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" display. It's a fact seconded by an anonymous source from Hollywood Elsewhere, who's also seen the film. "While it has 'Beetlejuice' elements, this is not a broad comedy. It's a gothic romance with strong farcical elements, but the trailer makes it seem like 'Love at First Bite' and it definitely is not," Hollywood Elsewhere wrote.

"The anachronism-based humor does work quite well. The film is funny, but it also has full-bodied horror elements," the tipster continued. "In short, there's more of the Burton 'Sweeney Todd' than the trailer implies. This is not Burton's 'Addams Family,' but a successful amalgamation of his comedic and gothic horror styles."

The tipster also adds that three-time Oscar nominee Michelle Pfeiffer is a standout, calling her performances as Elizabeth Collins Stoddard "her strongest work in years." So there you have it. Fans of the show can breathe a sigh of relief, because it's sounding more and more like justice has been done to their beloved cult soap opera. Burton maniacs can go back to being excited for his return to the darker, more Gothic terrain where he's done his best and most interesting work. My "The Fabulous Baker Boys,""Dangerous Liaisons," "The Age of Innocence," "One Fine Day," "White Oleander" and "Stardust" all-day Saturday marathon can proceed as scheduled. And, of course, the talented Jonathan Frid's final screen appearance will be a fitting and appropriate return to the story he seemed to love so much.

Fans of the show, does buzz that the film has a darker side than we're seeing in the ads make you feel any better? Let us know in the comments below and tweet me at @JohnMitchell83 with your thoughts and suggestions for future columns! comments!

Giuliana and Bill Rancic: Expecting!

After a long, emotional and often arduous process, Giuliana Rancic and husband Bill are finally expecting their first child! The little one is due in late summer via a gestational surrogate, which means the baby will be their genetic child.

"We are so thrilled that our prayers have been answered," the celebrity news anchor and Fashion Police member told E! this morning. Adds Bill, "We are absolutely ecstatic to be sharing this with everyone who has been following our journey."

Giuliana and Bill Rancic

Giuliana and Bill, whose struggles to conceive a baby have been well documented, and includes failed IVF treatments and a miscarriage, appeared on Monday's Today show to elaborate on the details behind the pregnancy.

Says Giuliana:

"We received an incredible amount of love and prayers from viewers around the world and we want to take this opportunity to thank every one of them."

"It was one of the best moments of my life, if not the best moment of my life. It's incredible. We've been trying for so long, we've been through so much. And to finally get that call from the doctor, it was just another world, another level."

"It was pretty emotional because this was our last stop," Bill added.

The announcement also follows several trying months that included Giuliana being diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing a double mastectomy.

Three weeks ago, the couple appeared on Today and Giuliana gave an optimistic prognosis. "I'm good," she said, adding she didn't need chemotherapy.

"You do what the doctors tell you to do and it's going to be OK."

Bill also announced, even before the pregnancy, that the two planned to renew their vows this summer, "and take life on and look at it in a new light."

"One of the things we've always tried to do is help others with our story," the original Apprentice winner said. "Whether it's with infertility issues, whether it's with breast cancer, we said we're gonna turn these negatives into positives."

"And if we can help others by sharing our story, then it's worth it."

Keep it up, you two. And congratulations!

Taylor Swift To Play Joni Mitchell?

Country superstar is linked to the role in the film adaptation of Sheila Weller's book 'Girls Like Us.'
By Fallon Prinzivalli

Taylor Swift

It turns out voicing Audrey in "The Lorax" and playing a shallow, high school cheerleader in "Valentine's Day" were just the opening roles in Taylor Swift's budding acting career. The Grammy-winning artist is linked to the role of Joni Mitchell in the film adaptation of Sheila Weller's book "Girls Like Us," Variety reports.

The biography maps the lives of three of the most influential female musicians in America: Carole King, Carly Simon and Joni Mitchell. In an attempt to capture the life of women in the 1970s, Weller tells these artists' three unique stories. King is the daughter of a middle-class New York family, living in one of the city's outer boroughs. Simon is the product of Manhattan's intellectual elite. Mitchell's grandparents were Canadian farmers.

When MTV News spoke to Swift in March, she told us acting has always "fascinated" her. The role of Mitchell sounds like a part she would want to take on.

"I love the idea that you can tell a story in that way," the singer gushed. "I've been reading scripts for about five years. In my free time, that's all I do is read scripts."

But she isn't in a rush to choose just any role. "I just want to make decisions really carefully. I think, with movies, it's really important that you have to love something so much that you cannot think about anything else," she continued. "If you're going to become someone else, that's a huge deal. That's a huge commitment, and I would want to have the time and the ability and the love for something and the love for a character to where I could really make that commitment to it."

Swift would certainly have some of the background knowledge it takes to play Mitchell, being a musician herself. While Sony Pictures has not made Swift an official offer, other actresses have already auditioned — including Alison Pill ("Midnight in Paris") — for the role of King. Variety also reported that Katie Jacobs, executive producer of "House," is directing the script penned by John Sayles, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura is set to produce. The biopic is still waiting to be green-lit, but the tentative start of production is later this year.

'That's My Boy' A 'Throwback' To Early Adam Sandler

'Adam Sandler has always been one of my comedy idols, so to get to work with him was really fun,' Will Forte tells MTV News.

No matter what you thought about Adam Sandler's last few zany comedies, there are more than a few reasons to be excited about his next release, "That's My Boy."

First, it's Sandler's first-ever R-rated comedy. Second, it features a cast of former and current "SNL" players like Andy Samberg and Will Forte, as well as James Caan and Vanilla Ice. And third, the outrageous plot revolves around a deadbeat father (Sandler) who attempts to reconnect with his long-lost son (Samberg) on the week of his wedding.

MTV News recently caught up with funnyman Forte to find out all about the on-set antics, Sandler's genius abilities in the art of swearing, how awesome Vanilla Ice is in the film and if we'll ever see a "MacGruber" sequel.

MTV News: In looking at the cast and concept of this film, it seems as though you probably had a lot of fun on set.

Will Forte: It was a ton of fun. I've always watched Sandler movies and thought, "Oh my God, that looks like it would be so much fun." They're always in Hawaii or some glamorous setting, and it really is as much fun as you would think it would be. It was like going to summer camp for this. Everyone was so cool. He's such a loyal and good person. He always works with the same people on the crew, so it's a real family-like atmosphere.

MTV: How does your character fit into the mix?

Forte: I play this guy named Bill, and he is Andy's best man. I don't really know Andy that well, so you find out later when Adam comes to find Andy on his wedding weekend, I give up my best-man duties to Adam. It's definitely not a straight man; he's kind of a weirdo. It's a fun character. There's a mix of different types of characters in there. I'm one of the ones who gets to have a lot of fun and be an idiot.

MTV: How does the R rating enhance the fun factor?

Forte: It's a completely different situation. There is so much going on in this movie. It's a really fun movie. Adam Sandler has always been one of my comedy idols, so to get to work with him was really fun, and to add into that the R-rated part of this movie, it was so fun. There are very few people who can swear with the style and enunciation of Adam. He just hits them just right. It was so much fun. This movie feels like a throwback to some of the earlier Sandler movies, with the addition of swearing. I cannot tell you how fun this experience was. I feel like when you watch the movie, you can tell how much fun we had.

MTV: How was it working with Vanilla Ice?

Forte: I got to hang out with Vanilla Ice quite a bit. It was awesome. He is so different than I thought he would be. He's this very sweet and loving person, just kind of normal for Vanilla Ice, if that makes sense. He's this wonderful, warm person, but still the Vanilla Ice you want to see. He doesn't disappoint you in not being Vanilla Ice-y enough. He's an awesome guy.

MTV: You have a lot of things on your plate in addition to this movie, like "Rock of Ages," the comedy pilot "Rebounding." What are the odds we'll ever see a "MacGruber" sequel?

Forte: We would love to do a "MacGruber" sequel! I don't know if anyone with any money would love us to do a "MacGruber" sequel, but we talk about it all the time, and we might even — to just get it out of our heads — we might sit down and write a second one. If we could somehow talk somebody into putting some money up for it [that would be great]. We're so proud of that movie and had so much fun doing it. There is no serious talk about making a "MacGruber" sequel, but there's some non-serious talk about it. A couple of the people who were a part of it sit around and get drunk and talk about it; that's the level of talk.

Victoria Beckham Helps Launch the Land Rover Evoque

Showing off the latest design work she's had her hand in, Victoria Beckham helped launch the special edition of the Land Rover Evoque at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China on Sunday (April 22).

With no shortage of wardrobe changes, the fashion mogul offered up a sultry pose on the red carpet in peep-toe boots and a strapless dress and then slipped into two other dresses throughout the event to pose in front of the luxury vehicle which she helped design.

In a press release, Victoria gushed, "I am very excited to be working with Land Rover as I have an enormous amount of respect for the brand. I?ve always driven a Range Rover, for me they are the epitome of quality and luxury.?

Proving her fashion sense isn't just astonishing on the runway, the 38-year-old's first hand in helping design a car came with a lot of hard work, "When I first started working with the team I did a lot of research, and created mood boards to show the team my love of timeless and classic design. I looked at yachts, luxury jets and classic cars."

Even with all the research and work, it didn't take long for her former Spice Girl to prove her eye for design as the Director of Design for Land Rover revealed she inspired the use of rose gold both inside and outside of the car by wearing her large-faced 400 Daytona Rolex man's watch to the first design meeting.

As the sheet was pulled back to reveal the new Range Rover Evogue for the first time, Mrs. Beckham said, "It?s a great honour. I wanted to design a car that I want to drive and that David would want to drive. I want a car that reflects my personality. I?m really proud of this car."

Zac Efron Reveals Best Music For Setting The Mood

'Phil Collins,' 'Lucky One' star deadpans to MTV News.
By Kara Warner

In a discussion of the finer aspects of the recently released romantic drama "The Lucky One" with stars Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling, one of the most entertaining subjects to come up revolved around prolific romance author Nicholas Sparks, author of the novel upon which the film is based. Specifically, we wondered whether Efron and Schilling had ever experienced any Sparks-like fantasy romance scenarios in real life.

"I'm sure I've said some of those lines," Efron admitted to MTV News. "They're probably worse — not as good as the ones [Sparks has] written, but they were excellent in the moment."

"I'm sure they were great," Schilling offered. "I'm sure they worked in the moment."

"I feel like they were good," Efron said with a smile.

"It's about the right moment," Schilling added, referring to the fact that there's a perfect time and place for romantic gestures. "There have been a few sweeping gestures [in my life] but what means the most to me are the little things from the heart. There have been a few notes and well-timed flowers that mean more than anything else."

"Every once in a while when you look into each other's eyes and that music starts playing, I love that," Efron joked, which prompted us to ask a follow-up question about which song you should play when trying to set the mood.

"That's a good question. What would be your song that you would play?" Schilling asked Efron. "I have no answer."

"Phil Collins," Efron deadpanned, which sent his co-star into a fit of giggles.

"That's great!" she said, laughing. "That's a good blanket artist. It's a great answer."

"I think so," Efron said.

We can just picture it now, Efron and a very lucky lady about to lock lips with Collins' classics "In the Air Tonight" or "Against All Odds" playing in the background.

Let us know in the comments below and tweet me at @JohnMitchell83 with your thoughts and suggestions for future columns! comments!

'Magic Mike': Male Stripper Weighs In On Channing Tatum's Moves

New York dancer gives MTV News his professional opinion on how authentic the 'Magic Mike' trailer is.
By Jocelyn Vena

Bachelorette parties, beefy dudes and dollar bills — oh my! It must mean that the "Magic Mike" trailer dropped.

And, yes, the trailer is filled with lots of Channing Tatum goodness — read goodness as: he's shirtless, a lot — as well as cameos from fellow hunks Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer.

The trailer follows the story of Tatum's character, Magic Mike, as he tries to balance his life as a stripper with a budding romance and his dreams of designing furniture. It seems that the Steven Soderbergh-directed flick, which opens in June, will have lots of heart and lots of laughs.

Now, after watching the trailer several (hundred) times, MTV News decided to track down a real-life male stripper to rate just how authentic it really is. Here's what we learned.

The Bachelorette Party
"The bachelorette party, the whole thing is totally legit," New York-based dancer Steve Stanulis, who goes by the stage name Steve Savage, told MTV News about the trailer's opening scene. "I mean, with the guys coming in as cops and the girls, like, getting all nervous. So, that's pretty authentic. It looks pretty good."

The Money
"The whole thing with the singles? The funny thing is when I used to go to the bank, they'd be like 'Oh, my god. Why do you have $500 in singles?' " Savage, who runs Savage Men and helped create "Stripped, The Play," recalled of hitting the bank after a night of dancing like Magic Mike. "And that would be like the ongoing joke."

The Dancing
"The show looks pretty good, the guys dancing and the whole shtick with each guy coming out with a different routine," he said of several teased strip-club scenes that feature McConaughey and Tatum getting their shirtless grooves on. "They're a little overly elaborate, with all the smoke and spinning, but again that's not something you would really see. I mean we're not going to see Fosse. I mean, they did a great job. All the guys look great as well. They're totally believable as dancers."

The Relationships
"The whole rigmarole, as far as being in a relationship and being a stripper, 95 percent of the comments of the girlfriends or the significant others give are like, 'When are you gonna give this up? When are you gonna get a real job?' or what have you," he said of Tatum's onscreen love interest, Paige, played by Cody Horn. "So, they really captured that as well, which is really funny."

The Ambition
"I also like the fact that he's talking about being an entrepreneur because all these guys, well most of these guys, are not just strippers, they're doing other things," he explained of Tatum's dream to make furniture for a living.

The Bottom Line
So, will Savage see the flick? "I would definitely go see it," he said. "I would def recommend it. It looks good."

Lindsay & Ali Lohan's La Conversation Lunch Date

Drawing an end to the week with quality sisterly bonding, Lindsay Lohan was joined by Ali for lunch in West Hollywood, CA on Friday (April 20).

The "Mean Girls" starlet and her younger sibling grabbed an outdoor table at La Conversation Cafe, with the Lohan ladies sipping on coffee beverages as they laughed amongst one another before speeding away in Lindsay's Maserati sports car.

The outing comes as LiLo has been in the headlines after allegedly getting into another nightclub fracas at The Standard Hotel on Wednesday night - though the details find conflicting stories between Miss Lohan and the supposed victim.

Meanwhile, Lindsay's troubled father, Michael Lohan, took to TMZ Live on Thursday in defense of his daughter - as he said that she by no means threw a drink on the other girl, adding that the true victim is his child.

'A Voice' In Nicki Minaj's Head Told Her To Quit Twitter

'I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me,' Minaj says, hinting at a return to the site.

As of Friday afternoon (April 20), Nicki Minaj has been absent from Twitter for five days, keeping the Barbz on a sharp lookout for her return.

Minaj deactivated the account in a fit of frustration on Sunday, but during her current press run in the U.K., she admits that she's still pondering if or when she will get back on the social media site. In an interview with Graham Norton, Nicki explained that one of the many personalities in her head — we're assuming it wasn't Roman this time — told her to quit Twitter.

"A voice in my head told me to delete my Twitter and that's what I did," she said, adding, "I had 11 million followers and I hope they will wait for me."

Norton specifically asked when she planned to get back on her timeline, but she wouldn't confirm anything, telling him, "I don't know yet, I'm thinking about it. I miss my Barbz, please bear with me."

Nicki disappeared from Twitter over the weekend after getting into a spat with one of her fan sites, NickiDaily, which she took issue with for posting leaked music from her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded album. "Like seriously, it's but so much a person can take. Good f---ing bye," she wrote before signing off indefinitely.

The leak was Nicki's breaking point, but it's very possible that she was also getting fed up with some of the feedback she's been receiving since she dropped Roman Reloaded.

For now, Barbz shouldn't be too worried about Nicki being permanently absent from Twitter. She will be able to reactivate her account even after several weeks of inactivity, and thanks to her verified status, no one will be allowed to inherit her @NickiMinaj handle without the permission of Twitter employees.

Do you think Nicki should reactivate her Twitter account? Tell us in the comments!
